(Re-) engineering and supply of dredgepumps
IJmuiden, the Netherlands – MOTAS Dredging Solutions has recently completed the design and construction of another Water Injection Dredging installation.
The scope of delivery includes the fabrication of jet arms, a hoisting gantry with swell compensator, hydraulic system and the jetwater pump sets. All components have been finalised and all sections have been transported to the client’s shipyard in the Far East, where they were integrated into the vessel.

IJmuiden, The Netherlands – MOTAS Dredging Solutions has been awarded a new order for a series of bayonet ball joints. Received from one of our USA clients, who is looking to enhance the performance of his discharge pipeline system.
The 800 mm inner diameter ball joints are designed for 35 bar working pressure according to the MOTAS Maximus® concept and feature the unique double liner system giving it optimal wear resistance, as well as ease of maintenance.
The MOTAS Maximus® design allows a more balanced stress distribution throughout the component, providing reduced peak stresses and an increased strength in the joint. This improved joint strength then leads to higher reliability during dredging operations – while its lighter weight reduces the cost ratio associated with the product.

The MOTAS Maximus® ball joint design is developed in The Netherlands and available for pipe diameters in the range from 300 mm/12” to 1200 mm/47” and in pressure stages from 10 bars/145 psi, up to 45 bars/652 psi.
Due to the flexibility of the design, it can be equipped with several wear liner configurations.

IJmuiden, The Netherlands – MOTAS Dredging Solutions has recently delivered the complete component package for the 800 mm pipe diameter sand backfill installation for these works by the Femern Link Contractors joint venture (FLC).
The order was awarded by Dutch shipyard Group Neptune Marine who are the builders of the large spreader pontoon with crew accommodation and integrators of the backfill system.

The spreader pontoon and installation is designed for the accurate back filling of sand on top of the up to 200 meters long tunnel elements after their placement in the tunnel trench, reaching water depths over 40 meters. The system and components design reflect the special care paid to avoid damaging the elements. This immersed tunnel solution is of a unique scale in terms of length and water depth.
We are very pleased to continue our cooperation with the versatile Neptune Marine Group, for over 50 years known for their reliable, flexible and high-quality maritime solutions.
FLC is the joint venture in charge of the Design & Construction of the immersed tunnel, the tunnel portals and ramps for the Fehmarnbelt project.

IJmuiden, The Netherlands – The sand & gravel industry has made clients call for extreme wear resistant dredge system components. MOTAS Dredging Solutions has recently supplied several centrifugally casted bimetal dredge pipes for such customers’ needs.
Bimetal dredge pipes combine the best of two worlds: the ease of weldability with extreme wear resistance. The bimetal pipes outer sides are mild steel castings that can simply be welded upon, while the inner sides, that are in contact with the dredged slurry, are casted in a high alloyed white cast iron having a typical hardness of up to 60 HRC, ensuring longest possible wear life stand time.
